Fall Fun!

I'm so behind on our blog so here are a few updates of our fall fun.  It includes one of my favorite days, October 8th, James's birthday.  Our little one turned 3.  He requested a Curious George party so, of course, that's exactly what we did!  It was a great time with family & friends!

Good Times

August has been great!  Our beach trip to Gulf Shores was, as always, a lot of fun and made extra special this year with the Hambleton Family joining us.  James started PK2 last week and liked it!  With his track record at the church nursery, we were very surprised!  It is only 2 half days a week, but a nice break for Mama.  James has also started going to sleep by himself.  VICTORY IN JESUS! :-)  I read a blog I found on Pinterest and it suggested an idea that seemed ridiculous to Randall & I, but we decided to try it anyway.  The idea: let your kids decide when they go to bed.  It does have a few guidelines, you don't just let them watch TV until midnight or run around crazy.  The bottom line--it worked!  The first night we tried it, Randall & I were both shaking our heads saying this will never work and 4 weeks later he is still going to sleep by himself.  Who knew?!?!  They do grow up!  :-)  Enjoy the pics!

Summer Lovin'

We are all doing well & having lots of fun this summer!  We've been fortunate to spend lots of time with family & friends! Our house build is moving right along as you'll see in the pictures below.  The decisions are still overwhelming especially when everything I pick out costs 10x what I need it too, but I'm not complaining!  :-)  We were also very pleased to find out our new little one is a boy!  James insists the baby's name should be Gnomeo, but I don't think that's going to happen.  Wishing you a great rest of the summer!

It's a Boy!

Memphis in May

We recently met our good friends, the Willistons from Mississippi, (Paul, Megan, Matthew & Thomas)  for a weekend in Memphis.  We visited the Zoo, the Big Back Yard at Memphis Botanical Gardens, the Children's Museum of Memphis and Mud Island River Park.  Although the weekend's activities were completely centered around the kiddos, we had fun too!  Thanks for driving more than 1/2 way to meet us Willistons!  We had a wonderful time catching up and look forward to our next mini-vacation!  Here are some pics of James from our trip:

Our Future Homesite!

We just closed the construction loan on our new house and dirt work is scheduled to start this week.  We are very excited to finally have this project underway, but also a little overwhelmed with the endless decisions to be made.  We hope to move in before the baby arrives in December.  I have my doubts, but our builder says it can be done. Cross your fingers! :-)
